Religious trauma
Former Jehovah's Witness
I am an Integrative Psychosynthesis Counsellor (MBACP) specialising in religious
trauma, high-control groups, and the long-term impact of spiritual abuse. As an
ex-Jehovah's Witness, I understand intimately what it means to be shunned, to lose
community overnight, and to rebuild a sense of identity from the inside out. My own
healing journey led me into psychosynthesis training, where I wrote my thesis on
religious trauma and the deep psychological wounds caused by coercive belief systems.
My work is grounded, relational, and paced with care. I integrate attachment theory,
CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed practice to support clients in reclaiming inner
authority, reconnecting with silenced parts of themselves, and making sense of the
patterns shaped by fear-based environments.
I offer online sessions UK-wide and in-person therapy in Cardiff (Cathedral Road,
Wednesdays) and Swansea (Clydach, Thursdays).
